Orlinsky, Harry

Orlinsky, Harry
(1908-92)
   American biblical scholar. He was born in Toronto, and went to the US in 1931. He was professor of Bible at the Hebrew Union College from 1943, and served as president of the Society for Biblical Literature 1969-70. He was also editor-in-chief of the Jewish Publication Society's translation of the Torah. His writings include Understanding the Bible through History and Archaeology.
